Hypno-Psychotherapy
Given society's ever-increasing demands,
it is no surprise that personal
problems arise. Such problems as depression, addictive behaviours,
stress-related conditions, relationship difficulties, weight gain, and low
self-esteem can be difficult to manage. Work-related issues
may also arise, including loss of confidence, difficulty working in teams, and
trouble managing workload.
Gaynor helps clients
resolve personal issues and have a better chance at achieving their potential by
devising an individual psychotherapeutic plan that draws upon a variety of
proven techniques. These techniques include counselling, cognitive behavioural
therapy, rational emotive behavioural therapy, Gestalt, and transactional
analysis.
Where appropriate,
Gaynor incorporates hypnotherapy to bring about desired changes. Hypnotherapy is
an altered state of consciousness in which the body is relaxed and the mind
freed from over-riding conscious restraints, allowing the hypnotherapist to
introduce positive suggestions to the subconscious mind which help bring about
desired changes in thought and behaviour. The client is aware of what is
going on at all times, and so is an active participant in the process.
Hypnotherapy is most effective when the client is motivated to change.
Hypnotherapy, therefore, can be seen as a therapeutic partnership between the
practitioner and the client.

Gaynor has a proven
track record in treating addictive behaviours, including (but not limited to)
smoking, excess and binge drinking, nail biting, and the use of recreational drugs.
One session usually is sufficient, although Gaynor is always available for
follow-up or reinforcement.
