Weight Management

95% of diets fail over 5 years. (Wright Foundation 2004)

The World Health Organisation (2001) reported that obesity and lack of physical activity/exercise contribute up to one-third of all cancers of the colon, breast, kidney and stomach.  Obesity related deaths are now second only to those related to smoking.

Weight-loss diets do not lead to good health.  The most effective way to lose weight and improve health is to become more physically active and eat a healthy, varied diet.  Having lost 4½ stones to become a personal trainer, Gaynor knows only too well the impact that excess body fat can have on a person’s physical, and emotional health.

Carrying excess fat strains the weight-bearing joints, stresses the heart and lungs, increases blood pressure, increases the risk of stroke, increases blood cholesterol levels, may lead to diabetes, reduces self esteem and confidence, may lead to depression and, ultimately, reduces life span.

Gaynor's strategy incorporates optimum nutrition, as well as appropriate physical activity.

Nutrition advice and monitoring

Gaynor assesses a client's nutritional requirements and provides food fact sheets, meal plans and recipes, along with food diaries to be filled in and monitored.

Exercise advice and monitoring

Clients also receive exercise and stretching schedules, along with exercise logs to track and monitor progress.
